Sweater Weather How Nice

This is one of my favorite hand-knit full-length sweaters I recently knit. I’m trying to figure out what kind of skirt I want to sew-up to go with it. I’m thinking maybe a maxi length A-line skirt in black or navy blue. A nice paisley fabric would be nice if I can find one with a similar color in the background of the paisley print itself. Colorful Yet Warm

During this time of year, it can get pretty cold here in Florida. On these chilly days I either wear my full-length black wool cloak or I throw on my men’s Tailored suit jacket that is really over-sized for me and multiple layers can be worn beneath it and still have room to breathe in it. Well, today was the day for the men’s Tailored jacket with red Victorian shoulder/neck collar, cabled headband in mauve and fingerless mitts in a green variegated yarn. All of these items are created from hand-spun 100% wool fleece which I processed and hand-dyed. With so many different colors, they saw me coming. I process my fleece directly from the animal. I’m grateful to be able to fashion my own clothing. I never use synthetic fibers. Synthetics fibers do us more harm than good. And, who says it all has to match. The goal was to be warm and protected from the elements. Bulky Knit Wool Fingerless Mitts

 New project in the works. I had to pull my full-length wool cloak out a few weeks ago since it has gotten cooler here in Florida. While digging through my yarn stash the other day I found this left over skein of super bulky yarn that I had spun at some time in the past. Don’t remember when. The stash is extensive. Last year I knit an over sized shawl from the same yarn and this last 6.5 ounces is what was left. I’m hoping to get two fingerless mitts from it. If not I’ll try another fiber source from the stash. Maybe I’ll even consider a totally different color as a mate to this one. There is no rule that says they have to both be the same color, by no means. The thought has come to mind to Vogue the shawl and the mitts when the mitts are completed. Though I wouldn’t hold my breath on that as I’m not one for taking pictures and posing on Instagram.
